The Rift Knee Guards are as close to perfect as any any knee pad I have used over the last 10 years, I just wish they were a little more durable behind the knee. The following may not be a consideration for 90% of riders, but I spin my cranks quite a bit right before a drop in, and sometimes I miss the pedal with a shoe being a doofus. BMX habits die hard. I did that on my second ride with these and tore two 1" holes in the back of my brand new knee guards. So far the tears aren't spreading, but my 17"+ calves are making that material work to near maximum stretch as it is (size XL). Maybe extra/different more durable material in the back would make these perfect. I wouldn't want to sacrifice comfort or function for it. But if possible, they'd be the undesputed champs for me. Probably going to buy a second pair to have on deck in case the tears grow (if that says anything about my level of satisfaction). Almost there Chromag, great product nonetheless!
